EcoTourism //
The people of Winter Park and Grand County Colorado are concerned with the future of their beloved natural paradise. Ecotourism choices made by visitors and local businesses are praised as being the turning point in preserving natures resources.
The mere distinction between ecotourism and sustainable travel is miniscule when you consider the fact that they both allow you to leave less of an impact on your destination of choice. Ecotourism, in its simplest form relates to travel experiences with nature while sustainable tourism has more of a focus on offering earth friendly services.Experts report that tourism grows between three to six percent annually. The rate of growth is among one of the reasons responsible tourism has been highly promoted throughout the entire tourism industry as our individual impact is an increasingly important issue.
Sustainable Tourism, in its entirety, is focused on sustaining and supporting the natural environment and culture through development and education to generate income and employment for the local community.
Ecotourism is a form of sustainable travel focusing more on specific areas where natural beauty and cultural heritage tend to be the main attraction. Businesses with programs focused on minimization of their impact on the natural environment can consider themselves part of the ecotourism industry.
Many businesses can say that they are a sustainable business in the fact that they support local businesses, but it is what they are actually doing that sets them apart and allows the term ecotourism to categorize them differently.
