Alpina-Madshus Cross Country Ski Stampede
As one of the largest nordic ski races in Colorado, the Alpina-Madshus Cross Country Ski Stampede is a premier event not to be missed if you are a nordic enthusiast visiting Winter Park.
The Alpina-Madshus Cross Country Ski Stampede is part of the Colorado Cup, a series of 9 cumulatively scored races . The Colorado Cup is intended to be scored similarly to alpine skiing's World Cup, allowing everyone to get the most out of each race by thoroughly developing junior skiers as well as experts. You can register for the 42km or 21km skate/classic races, or the 10km freestyle "mini stampede." Even the kids can get involved with the 2km children's race. For those with a competitive spirit, there is a large cash prize for the first male and female skiers in the 42km race. The Alpina-Madshus Cross Country Ski Stampede is located at the YMCA of the Rockies / Snow Mountain Ranch Nordic Center, just 12 miles from Winter Park.
It looks like you may have missed it this time around.
