Grand Lake Buffalo Barbecue
For close to 60 years, people have been flocking to the Grand Lake Buffalo Barbecue for 2 days chock full of fun. Taking place in mid-July, the Grand Lake BBQ marks the conclusion of Western Week, a celebration of Grand Lake's cowboy and pioneering heritage.
The Grand Lake Buffalo Barbecue is more than just a barbecue. With everything from a pancake breakfast, 5K fun run, and a festive parade, you will not be at a loss to find something to do. There is even musical entertainment and a barn dance, so don't forget your dancing shoes. If you are interested in getting to know more about the historic Grand Lake area, join one of the lake tours or informative art and architectural walks. The highlight of course is the buffalo bib, a tradition since 1947. Graze on farm raised buffalo and all the fixings of a world class barbecue, just about 30 miles from the Winter Park area
