The Grand Lake Regatta and Lipton Cup Races are one summer event you do not want to miss. Attracting sailboats and sailors from all over the world, this event has a rich history dating all the way back to 1905.

Public Centipede Fun Race - This Race will consist of 6 persons max, men or women, boys and girls or a combination of all, in a single canoe. This Race will be held after the Head Race and right in front of the public dock. No paddles necessary…you will use your hands!! Please bring a canoe for the Team and life jackets for every member of the Team. Only $15.00 per Team! It will be a BLAST!!

Overview: Nestled right on the nearly 4 mile long lake, the Grand Lake Yacht Club boasts the world highest yacht anchorage due to its altitude. A week of races and events this is a great inland yachting event.

Details:  In 1912 tea magnate Sir Thomas Lipton visited the club and raced in the regatta. He was so impressed by the area that he donated a sterling cup, now referred to as the Lipton Cup. Many years later, sailors still compete for the prestigious award. Whether you are a sailing enthusiast, or a novice to the sport you will thoroughly enjoy the beauty of the area and the excitement of the races.
