Ongoing Summer Events
Summer in Winter Park is enjoyable for anyone, whether you are an adventurer, want see some of the old west, or just want to take advantage of the many extraordinary events going on. The whole family will find something to do whether it is watching a play, a rodeo, a concert, or a bike race.
Each week during the summer in Winter Park, there are many activities to choose from, but weekends are really the time to shine. On Saturdays through August, the Winter Park Mountain Bike Race Series kicks off early in the day. Enjoy the riding competition, or better yet enter in a race. A little bit later on, enjoy free live music and kids entertainment at Plaza Palooza in the West Portal Station Plaza at the base of the resort.
For a full day, head out to Fraser for the High Country Stampede Rodeo Series featuring bucking broncos and bull riding at the "best little rodeo in Colorado." If you are looking for a bit of culture during your stay in Winter Park, then the Rocky Mountain Repertory Theater is your answer. Located in nearby Grand Lake, you can see daily productions of live musical theater.
Also be sure to check out any music and arts festivals taking place while you are there. Winter Park hosts several great music festivals throughout the summer offering everything from Blues to Hard Rock. There are also a number of food festivals in Winter Park, from chili cook-off's to beer and wine celebrations. Additionally, there are some great Arts and Crafts Fairs during the summer. No matter your interests, you will have little trouble finding a fun and unique way to fill your time while visiting Winter Park.
