Ongoing Winter Events
As one of the largest ski resorts in Colorado, there is plenty to do in Winter Park. The winter season is filled with mountain clinics, rail jams, fireworks, live entertainment, and plenty of snow. Whether you are here to ski, snowboard, or simply enjoy the Winter Park lifestyle, you will have no trouble filling your days.
The season in Winter Park kicks off early, and no matter when you come there will be an event sure to pique your interest. If skiing is your primary goal during your stay, there are plenty of offerings, whether you are looking to improve your skills or try something new. With weekly and monthly clinics focusing on everything from telemark skiing to bumps, even the most seasoned skier can find ways to improve. There are also snowboarding clinics and women-only programs. For kids, there is no better place to learn to ski than Winter Park with special areas designated just for them.
Throughout the season there are several exciting skiing and snowboarding competitions, or take some time out to hear the live music offered at many of the local watering holes. If you want to take some time away from the ski slopes, check out the Fraser Tubing Hill for some fast paced fun, or try ice skating at one of the several rinks in the area. You can even take a ride on a horse-drawn sleigh ride, with daily trips starting around noon. During the season there are some great festivals in the area, such as the popular Snowshoe Festival and numerous cross-country ski races and dog sledding events, so be sure to check those out if you have the chance.
