The Colorado Rockies boasts Solvista Ski Resort in Grand County, one of Colorado's most prized counties for its natural and stunning beauty. Solvista has been open since 1983, and is comprised of two separate, yet interconnected mountains. East Mountain's terrain is primarily beginner and intermediate, while West Mountain's terrain is primarily intermediate and advanced with limited beginner access. A separate learn-to-ski park features a surface lift for beginners.
Solvista's snowfall averages are 220 inches per year with 406 skiable acres, snowmaking covers 170 of those acres. The resort is accessed by 5 lifts and offers 30% beginner, 50% intermediate, and 20% advanced trails. Its base elevation sits at 8,202 feet with 1,000 feet vertical rise to the summit at 9,202 feet.
Located at the base of the mountain is the Base Lodge. This three-story facility is centrally located housing lift ticket sales, ski school desk, information desk, rentals, retail shop, lost and found, lockers, cafeteria, restaurant, lounge, and selected administrative offices. The resort offers a variety of lodging accommodations, some ski-in/ski-out, all within minutes of the mountain including The Inn at Silver Creek, The Mountainside at Silver Creek, The Summit at Silver Creek, and Kicking Horse Lodges.
