Mountain Boarding & Scooters
Mountain boards and scooters are the latest trend in mountain sports, and Winter Park now allows visitors to partake in the mountain board craze on its slopes. Mountain boarding is similar to snowboarding, only the board it equipped with 4 knobby, off-trail tires and a hand break, allowing you to ride over rough terrain as you would on a mountain bike.
Mountain boards and scooters are allowed on the Zephyr chairlift, while boards are available to rent at Powder Tools in the town of Winter Park. Once at the top of the lift, mountain boarders ride down the same trails that mountain bikers do, and have just as much fun.
Before embarking on your mountain board adventure, make sure you ar familiar with the rules and how to operate a mountain board. Boarders will carry their mountain boards on the Zephyr Express; all mountain boards must have a hand brake; and all riders must wear a helmet.
