Internet Access
Travelling to Winter Park, Colorado, does not guarantee Wi-Fi or other Internet access when staying within the park boundaries unless paid accommodation at the many hotels and resorts includes Internet connections in the rooms, suites or common areas. However, the two nearby towns of Georgetown and Granby are just a short drive away and offer much better facilities for those looking for free or quick access.
Internet access is as much a part of vacations as travelling and fun, but in Winter Park, Colorado, getting Internet access through Wi-Fi or broadband is only possible through prearranged services at lodgings or at the varied venues in Granby and Georgetown, just a matter of minutes down the road. Isolation in the Rockies does not mean disconnection from friends, family or business associates.
Wi-Fi connections in the Rockies are sketchy at best, but local services can be found to the south of the park at Georgetown, or the south at Granby. Granby has two Wi-Fi hotspots, including the cafeteria in the Sol Vista Basin Ski Resort (1000 Village Road) and at the Grand County Library Branch (151 Mesa Street), including broadband Internet and public computers. Georgetown also has two Wi-Fi possibilities, including the Canyon Wind Cellars on Argentine Street (1500) and the John Tomay Memorial Library on 6th Street (605).
Most of the local Granby and Georgetown services are available only during business hours. The libraries are open until 9pm daily, except Sundays and holidays, usually closing at 6pm.
