Snowbiking

The latest snowsport craze is something called a snowbike. Recently imported from Europe, snowbikes are catching on like wildfire! Ride a snowbike at Winter Park Ski Resort and you will be asked a thousand times, "What is that?", "Do you fall down?" and "How do you stop?".

A snowbike is a "sit ski". There is a bicycle frame with skis where the tires would be. You stay upright and balanced by using your feet, which have short skis attached. All sorts of people are trying out this new, exciting sport! Extreme sports enthusiasts are always ready to check out the latest craze. Teens try snowbikes in order to be on the forefront of a new trend. However, snowbikes are most popular and promising for individuals who have knee pain when they ski! Sitting on the snowbike allows people to ride the mountain without placing extra stress on their joints. It's possible to ride a snowbike all day long without feeling exhausted!

At this point in time, snowbikes are subject to special rules at ski resorts where they are allowed. In Winter Park, Colorado, snowbikers are required to take a beginners lesson before riding freely on the mountain. However, rental/lift/lesson packages are available at very affordable prices! Lessons are only available in the morning, and only for ages 14 and up. Once you master how to turn, you are welcome to explore every nook and cranny that Winter Park has to offer! It's guaranteed to be a new challenge on a snowbike.
