Idaho Springs is picturesque, something that invites travellers to partake in an array of activities and scenic drives.  It has the highest level of paved type roadway on the continent, which leads south to Mount Evans and close by to Golden Gate State Park.  Situated on the Continental Divide, Idaho Springs is only one hour’s quick drive to nearby ski resorts and other recreational destinations.

Idaho Springs offers visitors a taste of the great outdoors.  Visitors can enjoy biking, ATV driving, boating, hiking, fishing, horse riding, snowboarding, skiing, rock climbing, kayaking and rafting.  There are also numerous attractions offering exciting activities and events throughout the year, including art galleries, museums, mines, statues, the Roosevelt National Forest and the Arapaho National Forest.

Idaho Springs has numerous trails for hiking and backpacking.  Campgrounds offer easy access to wildlife watching, bird watching, hunting and walks. 

Idaho Springs biggest draw is its Mount Evans Scenic Byway, a twenty-eight mile drive that takes about two hours, roundtrip from the center of town.  It rises over seven thousand feet towards Mount Evans’ summit and gives access to mountain climbing and backcountry hiking and camping.

Idaho Springs is easy to reach.  It is just a few hours from Denver by car or bus.  No trains go to Idaho Springs, but it is on the airport shuttle route from Denver’s major airport and the local regional airport.  Situated just off the I-90, Idaho Springs is an adventure waiting to be rediscovered again and again, year after year.  In fact, Idaho Springs sees many repeat visitors who come annually for their taste of everything that the town has to offer.
