- One of the best preserved collections of Victorian buildings in the Rocky Mountain West is in Georgetown.
- The Georgetown Loop is an engineering feat. To overcome the steep grade between Georgetown and Silver Plume, VP Chief Engineer Jacob Blickensderfer devised a system of curves and bridges to reduce the grade from 6% to 3%.

Georgetown began as a mining camp in 1859. Although travelers were initially drawn to the area in search of gold and silver ore, it is now the natural beauty of this small community that attracts every age group.

Georgetown is located approximately 45 miles west of Denver. From Denver, take I-70 west. Take exit 228 to Georgetown.
